Kinderturnstiftung Baden-Württemberg

Private foundation

About the funder

Since 2007, the Kinderturnstiftung Baden-Württemberg has been committed as a non-profit foundation to promoting the natural urge to move among children in Baden-Württemberg and firmly integrating physical activity into everyday life. It initiates its own projects (e.g., Kitu-App, Rolling Children's Gymnastics World, Babies in Motion, in-house training for daycare centers) and specifically supports measures by the Badischer Turner-Bund and Schwäbischer Turnerbund in the field of children's gymnastics. With an annual funding volume for funds such as "Children's Gymnastics in Daycare" and other programs, it strengthens educational partnerships between daycare centers and sports clubs, trains educational professionals, and develops movement-friendly conditions within families, schools, municipalities, and clubs.

Mission & Vision

It is the mission of the Kinderturnstiftung Baden-Württemberg to preserve every child's natural urge to move from birth and to enable diverse physical activity in everyday life. Through information, education, and networking of all relevant stakeholders (parents, educational professionals, teachers, sports clubs, and municipalities), the foundation creates conditions that promote movement and strengthens children's gymnastics as a socially important component for the healthy physical and mental development of children.

Target groups

The target group includes all children in Baden-Württemberg from birth until the end of primary school, as well as their direct caregivers and educational stakeholders: parents and families, early childhood educators in daycare centers, primary school teachers, municipal decision-makers, and gymnastics and sports clubs. The foundation directs its projects and funding programs towards institutions and initiatives that aim to sustainably integrate physical activity into the daily lives of children.
