About the funder

Kinnings Foundation gGmbH is a non-profit organization based in Potsdam and Erfurt that empowers opportunity providers in East Germany. Founded in 2020 by Robert Gentz, David Schneider, and Rubin Ritter, it supports individuals and social entrepreneurs who drive social change with innovative ideas and entrepreneurial thinking. The foundation offers financial support, non-material guidance, leadership training, and a strong network of like-minded individuals, foundations, and social investors.

Mission & Vision

We inspire, empower, and connect exceptional individuals who are passionately committed to the opportunities for young people and a positive future for East Germany. Our goal is a connected civil society in which courageous changemakers take responsibility and create impact.

Target groups

The programs of the Kinnings Foundation are aimed at social entrepreneurs and young leaders in Eastern Germany. This includes social entrepreneurs who want to strategically further develop their organizations, emerging talents aged 18 to 35 who wish to strengthen their leadership skills, as well as fellows of the Academy who manage a budget of €25,000 to select projects that promote social cohesion. The foundation supports committed changemakers who, with energy, optimism, and conviction, create new solutions for local and regional challenges.
