KNA-PROMEDIA-Stiftung
About the funder
The KNA-PROMEDIA Foundation was established in 1999 and primarily supports aspiring as well as nationally and internationally active journalists. It provides professional training and further education with a focus on interreligious dialogue and well-founded reporting on religious topics. This includes scholarship programs, trainee positions, internships, and research stays at "holy" sites such as Rome, Sarajevo, and Jerusalem. The foundation facilitates direct exchanges between participants and representatives of religions, experts, and media professionals to reduce prejudices and promote fact-based, mediating reporting.

Mission & Vision
The KNA-PROMEDIA Foundation is committed to enhancing the quality of reporting on religious conflicts and intercultural issues through targeted journalistic training and interreligious encounters. Its goal is to promote peace, tolerance, and understanding by empowering journalists to contextualize complex matters, overcome prejudices, and build bridges between cultures and religions.
Target groups
The funding programs are aimed at younger journalists from various media (print, online, audio, video) at the national and international levels. Typically, ten participants are selected per training, with at least one-third representing different religious affiliations and one-third being women. The scholarship recipients commit to publishing at least one journalistic contribution in a national or international media outlet within twelve months after the training.
