The Konrad Henkel Foundation was established on October 24, 1985, by Henkel KGaA in Düsseldorf on the occasion of the 70th birthday of Dr.-Ing. Dr. rer. nat. h.c. Konrad Henkel. Its explicit goal is to promote research and teaching at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Its focus is particularly on economics as well as on supporting scientific international relations. The Board of Trustees, chaired by Dr. h.c. Christoph Henkel, is composed of representatives from business, academia, and university administration.
