About the funder
The SWD Cultural Foundation is a non-profit foundation of Stadtwerke Düren GmbH with the aim of promoting cultural diversity and the arts scene in Düren and its surroundings. Since its establishment, it has annually supported a wide range of regional art and cultural projects – from exhibitions and concerts to theater and dance projects, as well as interdisciplinary participatory formats in public spaces. In 2025, a total of 16 projects were funded with a total funding volume of €12,750. The jury selects ambitious individual projects and associations that make an innovative contribution to cultural development and participation in the region.

Mission & Vision
The SWD Cultural Foundation is committed to preserving and further developing a vibrant cultural landscape in Düren. It supports artists, associations, and initiatives that enrich public spaces with creative ideas and provide impulses for social cohesion and cultural dialogue. The foundation places special emphasis on projects that enable intergenerational participation and strengthen cultural togetherness in the city.
Target groups
The funding programs of the SWD Cultural Foundation are aimed at professional and amateur artists, non-profit associations, initiatives, as well as individuals from Düren and the Düren district. Projects from all cultural sectors are supported – such as visual arts, music, theater, dance, literature, or interdisciplinary formats – that have a direct connection to the region and are generally not already publicly funded elsewhere.
