Kulturstiftung Matrong

Non-profit organization

About the funder

The Matrong Cultural Foundation was established in May 2006 as a non-profit, legally capable foundation under civil law. It supports programs and projects in the fields of art, culture, and education, with a focus on non-commercial theater and drama productions. Institutional funding is provided only upon proof of non-profit status and identical funding objectives; individual projects are awarded exclusively to professional, non-commercial providers. The foundation places special emphasis on the promotion of emerging professional artists and supports both the development of theater concepts as well as performances and productions of children's theaters.

Mission & Vision

The Matrong Cultural Foundation is committed to sustainably supporting artistic and cultural projects that strengthen independent theater initiatives and professional artists in their concept development, production, and performance. Our goal is to support innovative non-commercial theater endeavors and to specifically promote the next generation of talented actors and theater makers.

Target groups

Non-commercial theater and acting projects initiated by professionally working artists are supported. Eligible to apply are organizations and individuals recognized as non-profit (e.g., foundations, associations, independent groups) whose projects are characterized by creative concepts, close mentoring of emerging artists, and clear, comprehensive financial and conceptual planning. A prerequisite is that the project has not been commercially released at the time of application and will be completed within twelve months.
