About the funder

The KURT TWELKER Foundation is a non-profit organization named after the Kassel architect Kurt Twelker, established in 2002 through the bequest of his widow, Christina Twelker. Under the chairmanship of Jürgen Schleicher, the foundation supports children affected by addiction, families, and individuals with addiction-related psychosocial problems through group work, counseling, recreational activities, and the provision of housing and employment. Additionally, it funds preventive educational measures against youth alcoholism and drug use and promotes the training of volunteer staff in addiction support. Its commitment is carried out in the spirit of Christian charity and charitable purposes.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to support people affected by or at risk of addiction through immediate Christian charity. We aim to pave the way for them to lead an addiction-free life through counseling, group and recreational activities, as well as preventive education, while simultaneously enabling psychosocial stability and participation in social life.

Target groups

The target group of the KURT TWELKER Foundation comprises children, adolescents, and families affected by addiction, individuals with addiction who face particular psychosocial challenges, as well as volunteers in addiction support services. Furthermore, the foundation addresses schools, parents, and confirmation groups to carry out preventive educational work against alcohol and drug consumption.
