The Department of Spatial Planning and Overall Traffic Affairs (RU7) within the Office of the Lower Austrian State Government is responsible for overarching spatial planning and the coordination of all traffic-related matters in the state of Lower Austria. As the central point of contact, RU7 processes funding applications under the Lower Austrian Public Transport Financing Program (NÖ NVFP) for structural measures aimed at improving public transport. It supports municipalities throughout all initial and review processes, ensures compliance with funding guidelines, and guarantees legally compliant administration.

The funding programs of Department RU7 are aimed at municipalities of all legal forms (municipality, market town, city municipality, statutory city) in Lower Austria that plan and implement construction measures to improve infrastructure for public local transport. They particularly support projects involving public transport-effective areas such as bus layover and passenger boarding areas.
