About the funder

The Upper Austrian Health Fund is a public-law institution established by the State of Upper Austria with its own legal personality. It was founded on the basis of the Upper Austrian Health Fund Act 2013 and coordinates, in a partnership-oriented target management with the federal government, states, and social insurance carriers, the structural, organizational, and financing issues of healthcare provision in Upper Austria. The fund ensures the sustainable development of the inpatient and outpatient system and guarantees efficient, high-performance, and future-oriented care in the interest of patients.

Mission & Vision

The Upper Austrian Health Fund has set itself the mission of maintaining healthcare provision in Upper Austria at a high level and further developing it to be future-ready through collaborative target management with system partners. The focus is on patients as well as close cooperation with social insurance, the medical association, municipal authorities, and other stakeholders to leverage synergies and use resources efficiently.

Target groups

The target group of the Upper Austrian Health Fund comprises, on the one hand, the patients living in Upper Austria, and on the other hand, all service providers and institutions of the public healthcare system: hospitals, resident physicians, outpatient care providers, social insurance carriers, medical associations, municipal authorities, and the federal government, who are jointly involved in the management and financing of the healthcare system.
