About the funder
The Landesforst Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Landesforst MV) is a public law institution and serves as the lower forestry authority of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. With 29 forestry offices and 191 districts, it manages approximately 193,000 hectares of forest and carries out tasks related to close-to-nature forestry. Landesforst MV protects the climate and biodiversity, supports the local economy, and offers a wide range of recreational, educational, and service programs – from forest education programs and timber sales to chainsaw courses. Annually, around 50,000 participants (including 35,000 children) take part in guided tours and excursions. With approximately 1,000 employees, it is one of the largest employers in the state.
