About the funder

The district of Freyung-Grafenau is a municipal territorial authority in the administrative region of Lower Bavaria. It was established in 1972 through the merger of the districts of Grafenau and Wolfstein and covers an area of approximately 984 km² with around 78,000 inhabitants. As a "dual authority," the district administration office fulfills both district-specific and state tasks and operates, among other things, hospitals, schools, and extensive administrative services. The district offers a wide range of services for citizens, businesses, and visitors and is responsible for matters ranging from infrastructure and social affairs to the environment and tourism.
