About the funder

The Lauterbach Foundation is a non-profit foundation under private law based in Berlin. It was established in 2002 by Inge Lauterbach in memory of Artur Lauterbach and aims to support gifted and socially disadvantaged participants of the Hartnack School Berlin through scholarships. The focus of the funding is on language instruction, preparatory courses for university and careers, as well as covering examination fees and teaching materials. In the long term, the foundation may also become the sponsor of the Hartnack School Berlin.

Mission & Vision

The mission of the Lauterbach Foundation is to provide talented but financially disadvantaged language learners with equal opportunities and a high-quality education. Through the awarding of scholarships and support for the Hartnack School Berlin, the foundation contributes to the individual and professional integration of its scholarship recipients.

Target groups

Funding is provided for highly gifted and needy language course participants at the Hartnack School Berlin. The target group includes individuals of all nationalities who need to acquire German language skills for study or work, whose income falls below the standard rates of the Fiscal Code (§ 53 AO), and who are willing to engage in voluntary services in school or social projects.
