Leben im Alter
About the funder
The Leben im Alter Foundation was established by the Workers' Welfare Association, Western Westphalia District. In response to demographic change, it is committed to innovative concepts in elderly care. The foundation implements model projects in the field of residential care, supports senior centers in setting up sensory gardens and Snoezelen rooms, and is involved in individual assistance to combat old-age poverty. Its goal is to create modern living and care options that enable older people to live a self-determined and dignified life – fully in line with the vision: living environments where elderly people can flourish like butterflies.

The Leben im Alter Foundation pursues the mission of promoting a dignified and worthwhile old age. It aims to ensure that older people are neither materially disadvantaged nor socially isolated. Through research, model projects, and targeted support, it sets impulses for sustainable changes in care and seeks to positively shape public perception of aging. In doing so, it places value on diversity, individual needs, and an inclusive society.
