About the funder
The Maria-Ladenburger Foundation supports students of the University of Freiburg who have disabilities, sudden illnesses, or are facing difficult life circumstances of any kind. Additionally, it promotes student initiatives in development aid, particularly medical internships in developing countries, as well as especially deserving development projects initiated by students.

Mission & Vision
The Maria-Ladenburger-Stiftung is committed to continuing the legacy of Maria Ladenburger as an encourager of courage and to setting a sign of humanity in her spirit. Its goal is to promote the education and training of students at the University of Freiburg, especially at the Faculty of Medicine, in order to provide them with financial and moral support in times of need.
Target groups
Funding is provided to students of the University of Freiburg, particularly those of the Medical Faculty, who require financial support due to disabilities, sudden illnesses, social hardships, or impressive student development projects. This includes:
- Students with disabilities or unforeseen emergencies shortly before completing their studies
- Students planning internships in developing and emerging countries
- Student initiatives and projects in the medical and development policy fields
