About the funder
The Matthias-Claudius-Stiftung Bochum is a non-profit foundation of the Matthias-Claudius-Sozialwerk Bochum e.V. It supports integrative educational, residential, and employment projects for people with and without disabilities in the central Ruhr area and beyond. Since its founding, it has supported, among others, the Matthias-Claudius Primary and Comprehensive School, the MCS Junior Academy, integrative residential projects ("Claudius-Höfe"), and the integrative employment offerings of Villa Claudius. In addition, it awards the Matthias-Claudius Prize for Social Action, endowed with €10,000, every two years.

Mission & Vision
The foundation sees its mission in promoting youth and elderly care, family support, as well as public and vocational education based on Christian values. It procures financial resources to support innovative, inclusive projects that enable education, housing, and work across generations and talent-oriented. In doing so, civic engagement is to become effective alongside state funding.
