About the funder

The Max and Justine Elsner Foundation is a legal public foundation under civil law based in Erlangen. It was established in 1996 by the couple Max and Justine Elsner and is recognized as a non-profit institution exempt from tax under § 5 para. 1 no. 9 KStG. The foundation possesses a permanent endowment, which, in addition to the donors' contributions, also includes income from the Elsner Industrial Park. Since its inception, it has provided approximately four million euros to support around 1,000 projects in the Erlangen region.

Mission & Vision

The mission of the Max and Justine Elsner Foundation is the sustainable support of the common good in the Erlangen region. The focus of funding is on youth and elderly care, support for people in need, competitive and training sports – especially tennis – as well as the promotion of cultural activities and non-profit organizations such as the fire department, THW, and DLRG.

Target groups

The foundation is aimed at non-profit organizations, associations, and initiatives in the greater Erlangen area, particularly youth and elderly care facilities, sports clubs and projects (with a focus on tennis), fire departments, THW and DLRG youth groups, cultural institutions and events, as well as aid organizations and social projects that support those in need.
