Mechtild und Günter Welker-Stiftung
About the funder
The Mechtild and Günter Welker Foundation was established in 1994 by the couple Mechtild and Dr. Günter Welker as a private foundation. Its goal is to "encourage courage for a life with children" and to strengthen the sense of responsibility of young mothers and fathers towards unborn life. Since its founding, the foundation has supported individuals and projects in the official district of Oldenburg with over €2.6 million (as of January 2025) from interest and dividend income as well as additional endowments over more than two decades. The foundation works closely with the State Caritas Association for Oldenburg e. V. (based in Vechta).
