Mission & Vision

The Melanchthon Foundation continues the educational tradition of historic Saxon and Brandenburg schools, characterized by a close connection between school and boarding, student self-administration within the prefect system, and teacher-supervised living arrangements. It supports gifted young people who carry on these educational forms.

Target groups

Gifted, character-appropriate, and socially disadvantaged pupils who attend one of the four supported boarding gymnasiums in the East German federal states (Landesschule Pforta, Gymnasium Sankt Augustin Grimma, Landesgymnasium Sankt Afra Meißen, Klosterschule Roßleben). Prerequisites are good performance in core subjects as well as impeccable behavior in school and boarding school daily life.
