About the funder

The Ministry for Climate Protection, Agriculture, Rural Areas and the Environment Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (MLUV) is a supreme state authority of the state government of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It consolidates responsibilities for climate change, the promotion and regulation of agriculture, as well as the development of rural areas. Furthermore, the MLUV is responsible for comprehensive environmental protection, including nature conservation, waste and emission control, water and soil protection, as well as consumer protection in the fields of health and food safety. Through coordinated specialist departments, the ministry ensures sustainable development, resource conservation, and a future-oriented development of rural areas.

Mission & Vision

The MLUV is committed to preserving natural livelihoods, adapting to climate change, and promoting sustainable agriculture. It supports the preservation and development potential of rural areas as well as environmental and nature conservation. The goal is to strengthen rural areas as a livable home, harmonize ecology and economy, and ensure responsible consumer protection.

Target groups

The target groups of the Ministry include farmers, forestry and fisheries enterprises, as well as actors in organic agriculture. Municipalities, planning offices, and initiatives in rural areas are supported in integrated development. Nature conservation associations, environmental authorities, and water suppliers benefit from funding programs and regulations for environmental and climate protection. Consumers are addressed through information services and controls in health and food safety.
