About the funder

The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour, Energy and Climate Protection (MWAEK) is a state ministry of the Brandenburg state government. It is responsible for the strategic orientation and implementation of economic policy, labour market policy, energy supply, and climate protection in the state of Brandenburg. Its core tasks include economic promotion and location marketing for companies and investors; securing and developing the Brandenburg labour market as well as further education and qualification; building a sustainable energy industry in accordance with the Energy Strategy 2040; implementing climate protection measures and supporting municipal adaptation projects; coordinating funding programs in the areas of investment, infrastructure, and innovation promotion.

Mission & Vision

The MWAEK aims to strengthen Brandenburg as a competitive business and innovation location, secure employment, and advance the transition to a climate-neutral and resilient energy supply. Sustainable economic activity, social participation in the labor market, and climate protection are central to the ministry's policies.

Target groups

The MWAEK’s offerings are aimed at companies (particularly small and medium-sized enterprises), founders, industrial and craft businesses, self-employed individuals, as well as municipal actors. In addition, employees, job seekers, energy suppliers, and organizations in the field of climate protection and adaptation are addressed. Through funding programs and advisory services, the Ministry supports all stakeholder groups in developing innovative, sustainable, and future-proof projects in Brandenburg.
