The Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Schleswig-Holstein GmbH (MBG) is a state-supported investment company that provides capital and expertise primarily to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Schleswig-Holstein. Acting as a risk partner, it participates through silent and open equity investments in various fund programs (including MBG Participation, Innovation Fund SH, Mittelstandsfonds Schleswig-Holstein) and supports start-ups, growth, and succession projects. The MBG works closely with the Bürgschaftsbank, the Investitionsbank SH, as well as EU funding programs, positioning itself as a long-term equity provider to strengthen the regional economy.

Our mission is to promote sustainable entrepreneurship in Schleswig-Holstein by supporting companies at all stages of development with equity capital, strategic consulting, and an extensive network. We rely on partnership-based collaboration, short decision-making processes, and tailored financing solutions to ensure innovation, growth, and stability in the SME sector.

The MBG funding programs are aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises with headquarters or operations in Schleswig-Holstein. This includes technology- and knowledge-based start-ups in the seed and early-stage phases, established growth companies, succession projects, sustainable business initiatives, as well as larger medium-sized enterprises with annual revenues of up to €100 million. The goal is to create a balanced equity base and to strengthen innovative, future-proof business models.
