About the funder

Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Thüringen mbH (MBG Thüringen) is a public-private investment company based in Erfurt. It provides small and medium-sized enterprises in Thuringia with balance sheet-strengthening equity in the form of silent and open participations as well as micro-mezzanine and express participations. MBG acts as a market-oriented economic participant and cooperates, among others, with KfW. With investment amounts ranging from EUR 50,000 up to EUR 3 million, it particularly supports innovation and growth projects and improves the equity base of companies.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is the sustainable strengthening of the equity capital base and innovative capacity of medium-sized enterprises in Thuringia. With tailored equity participation solutions, we support growth projects, create attractiveness for private co-investors, and thus contribute to the economic development and competitiveness of the region.

Target groups

The target group of MBG Thüringen comprises start-ups as well as small and growth-oriented medium-sized enterprises with innovative or digitization-focused business models and a group turnover of up to EUR 75 million. Furthermore, MBG Mikromezzanin specifically supports micro and small enterprises, founders, women, and people with a migration background. A prerequisite is the registered office or a branch in Thuringia as well as convincing professional and commercial management.
