Museumsverband Rheinland-Pfalz e.V.
About the funder
The Museums Association Rhineland-Palatinate e.V. is a non-profit advocacy organization founded in 1992, representing more than 500 museums and museum-like institutions in Rhineland-Palatinate. As a partner of the state government and the ADD Trier, the association advises and supports all non-state museums on professional matters related to collection care, exhibition organization, and visitor orientation. In addition to individual museum consulting and publications, it organizes statewide training sessions, regional conferences, and networking meetings. Furthermore, the association represents the interests of its members before politics, administration, and the public, and promotes the digital visibility of museums through the Museums Portal Rhineland-Palatinate.

Mission & Vision
We see ourselves as communicators and networkers: with well-founded advice and targeted training programs, we strengthen the core competencies of museums in collecting, preserving, researching, and conveying. Through open exchange with partners from culture, science, education, and tourism, we promote the professionalization and future viability of the museum landscape in Rhineland-Palatinate. Digitalization, inclusion, and audience orientation are at the center of our work.
Target groups
The funding and advisory services of the Museumsverband Rheinland-Pfalz e.V. are aimed at all non-state museums in Rhineland-Palatinate – whether municipally operated or supported by associations, foundations, or special-purpose associations. The target groups are museum directors, specialist staff, volunteers, and other interested parties from culture, science, education, and tourism who wish to professionalize and network their projects and exhibition formats.
