Nahverkehrsservice Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH (NASA GmbH) is a 100% state-owned company of Saxony-Anhalt, headquartered in Magdeburg. Acting on behalf of the public sector, it plans, commissions, and finances local rail passenger transport (SPNV) within the state. In addition, in cooperation with the Central German Transport Association and regional railway and bus companies, it operates the INSA timetable information system. NASA GmbH is responsible for Europe-wide procurement procedures for transport contracts, sets quality standards, and monitors their compliance. It promotes the expansion and modernization of stations, stops, and charging infrastructure within the framework of various programs and supports projects from application submission through to final accounting. All timetable, fare, and real-time data converge in its data center, which are also used for mobile tickets and digital passenger information.

Mission & Vision
NASA GmbH aims to sustainably strengthen public mobility in Saxony-Anhalt. It designs the state rail-bus network according to demand, promotes barrier-free and modern infrastructure, and relies on competition as well as the highest quality standards. In doing so, it assumes responsibility for fare revenues, sales, and tariff development. With its competence center for intelligent transport systems, it drives innovations such as e-mobility and data-based services forward. NASA GmbH sees itself as a central contact point for politics, administration, and citizens to enable and continuously improve mobility for all in the state.
Target groups
The funding programs of NASA GmbH are aimed at municipalities, municipal and private transport companies, as well as infrastructure providers in Saxony-Anhalt. Eligible applicants are local authorities and companies implementing investments in station and stop modernization, vehicle and charging infrastructure, interface projects, or revitalization initiatives in coal regions. The objective is to strengthen public local transport, increase accessibility, and promote innovative mobility solutions in both rural and urban areas.
