About the funder

The NaturSchutzFonds Brandenburg Foundation is a public-law nature conservation foundation of the state of Brandenburg, established in 1995. It manages compensation payments from parties responsible for environmental interventions and allocates these funds to projects in nature conservation and landscape management in Brandenburg. Its responsibilities include promoting measures for the protection, maintenance, and development of nature and landscape, acquiring and securing land, implementing its own foundation projects, as well as supporting research and exemplary studies. Since 1997, the Naturwacht Brandenburg has operated under its umbrella, and together with the State Office for the Environment, it coordinates the Natura 2000 teams.
