About the funder

The Nepalhilfe–Irmgard Schlaeger–Foundation was established in 2003 by Irmgard Schlaeger and is an independent, non-profit foundation in support of the Freundeskreis Nepalhilfe e.V. (FNH). Its endowment serves to secure the long-term financial stability and further development of the children's village in Pokhara as well as the youth hostel in Kathmandu. The foundation collects additional donations starting from 5,000 euros to increase the capital and ensure sustainable income for the projects. With this, Irmgard Schlaeger continued the longstanding family tradition of philanthropy and supported the professional work of the Freundeskreis Nepalhilfe.

Mission & Vision

Our goal is to ensure the sustainable care and support of disadvantaged children and youth in Nepal through a solid financial foundation. We strengthen the Pokhara Children's Village and the Kathmandu Youth Hostel by continuously increasing the foundation's assets, thereby generating lasting returns for education, care, and infrastructure development. We believe in the transformative power of long-term support and aim to provide every child with a place of security and growth.

Target groups

The funding from the Nepalhilfe–Irmgard Schlaeger Foundation primarily benefits disadvantaged children and adolescents in Nepal, especially orphans and half-orphans, children from catastrophic or difficult family circumstances, as well as girls and boys in the Pokhara children's village and youth at the Kathmandu youth hostel.
