About the funder
The Niedersächsische Sparkassenstiftung was founded in 1985 by the savings banks of Lower Saxony and NORD/LB as a private foundation under civil law. In close cooperation with the Lower Saxony savings banks and the VGH Foundation, it supports projects in the fields of visual arts, music, museums, and monument preservation. The foundation aims to strengthen cultural diversity, enable cultural participation, and thereby promote the common good and social cohesion in Lower Saxony.

Mission & Vision
The Niedersächsische Sparkassenstiftung is committed to supporting art, music, museums, and monument preservation in Lower Saxony, thereby enriching the cultural diversity of the state. It operates according to the principles of good foundation practice and places great importance on sustainability, public benefit, and early consultation with applicants in cooperation with the Lower Saxony savings banks.
Target groups
Eligible for funding are non-profit institutions and initiatives, artists, ensembles, museums, art associations, monument owners, municipalities, and other cultural actors who implement cultural projects in Lower Saxony. Funding is provided particularly for projects with an innovative character and supraregional significance, which are applied for before the project begins and carried out in cooperation with the responsible savings bank.
