About the funder
The Norddeutsche Stiftung für Umwelt und Entwicklung (NUE) was founded in 1999 by environmental and One World organizations from Northern Germany. The foundation is based in Hamburg and supports projects in Hamburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania that are considered forward-looking in the spirit of Agenda 21. The foundation promotes exemplary activities in the fields of nature and environmental protection, environmental education, development cooperation, as well as development policy and intercultural educational work. Projects with a geographical connection to Hamburg or Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are funded. For development policy projects abroad, this connection exists if they are initiated, accompanied, or supervised from Hamburg or Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and are linked to development policy educational work in one of the federal states.

Target groups
The funding programs of the Northern German Foundation for Environment and Development (NUE) are aimed at non-profit recognized associations and organizations as well as public law entities. Private individuals cannot be supported. The foundation supports projects that pursue an innovative approach and contribute to ecological and social sustainability. The funding is directed at organizations that seek to explore new paths and enrich the environmental and educational landscape.
