About the funder
The Otto Henneberg-Poppenbüttel Foundation was established in 1986 to preserve the life's work of the Henneberg-Poppenbüttel family, particularly that of Otto Henneberg-Poppenbüttel. The core of the foundation's assets is the Arboretum Marienhof, located north of Hamburg, covering an area of 2.7 hectares and featuring around 200 rare tree and shrub species. Furthermore, the foundation supports research in the field of dendrology, the scientific branch of botany that deals with woody plants.

Mission & Vision
Not for me, but for posterity – "Not for myself, but for future generations." The foundation aims to preserve the botanical heritage and the park as a unique tree collection in the long term and to serve scientific progress in this field through financial and organizational support of dendrological research.
Target groups
The foundation's funding opportunities are primarily aimed at research institutions, scientists, and students in the fields of dendrology and botany who focus on rare and woody plant species. Furthermore, the foundation addresses environmental education and nature conservation organizations that utilize the Marienhof Arboretum as a learning and research site.
