Parkheim der Detaillistenkammer
About the funder
The Parkheim Foundation was established in 1925 by the Hamburg Retailers' Chamber. It provides socially acceptable, affordable housing for retailers aged 60 and over in the Winterhude district, directly adjacent to the Stadtpark. Today, the foundation manages 168 renovated old-style apartments (1–2 rooms, 34–67 m²) with modern amenities such as double glazing, shower bathrooms with toilets, district heating, and intercom systems. A strong sense of community among the residents is a central feature of the complex.
