About the funder
The Paul-Martini-Foundation is a non-profit private foundation based in Berlin. It supports pharmaceutical research as well as research on drug therapy and intensifies the scientific dialogue among medical scientists at universities, hospitals, research-based pharmaceutical companies, other research institutions, and representatives of health policy and authorities. The foundation is sponsored by the Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (vfa) in Berlin. The foundation is named after the Bonn scientist and physician Professor Paul Martini (1889–1964) in recognition of his contributions to clinical-therapeutic research.

Mission & Vision
The Paul Martini Foundation is committed to the scientific advancement of modern drug therapy to ensure effective and safe patient care. For over 60 years, it has served as a bridge between academic science, clinical practice, research-driven industry, and politics. By organizing events and awarding the Paul Martini Prize, it promotes interdisciplinary exchange and the further development of clinical-therapeutic research.

The funding activities of the Paul-Martini-Stiftung are aimed at medical scientists and researchers at universities, hospitals, the pharmaceutical research industry, other research institutions, as well as decision-makers in health policy and authorities. Additionally, early-career researchers and post-docs benefit from travel grants and special Early Career Awards. The foundation supports individuals and groups conducting pioneering projects in clinical-therapeutic drug research.
