About the funder

The Dr. E. A. Langner Foundation was established in 2004 by entrepreneur Prof. Dr. Ernst A. Langner. As a non-profit private foundation, it independently initiates and supports needs-based projects and programs with significant financial and time commitment. For over 20 years, its primary focus has been on promoting social and cultural projects, particularly in academic jazz education and the Hamburg jazz scene. Its projects include the establishment of an international jazz master's program at the HfMT Hamburg, the funding of professorships and guest professorships, the support of new concert venues such as the JazzHall, and social cultural programs for children and youth.

Mission & Vision

The Dr. E. A. Langner Foundation aims to support young, culturally interested individuals on their musical and social journey and to open up new perspectives for them. Target groups

It supports students of the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre, emerging jazz journalists, children and youth in reading and music education, as well as projects that make a sustainable contribution to cultural diversity.
