About the funder

Projektträger Karlsruhe (PTKA) is an independent organizational unit at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with its headquarters on the North Campus in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen. For over 50 years, PTKA has managed publicly funded research and innovation projects across Europe and Germany. Approximately 170 employees from the natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, economics, law, and administration support funding applicants in all phases of research management. In addition to the North Campus, PTKA maintains locations in the Karlsruhe Technology Park and in Dresden. In six areas of expertise (Production, Services, Work, Water, Waste Management, Environment & Energy), PTKA oversees funding measures on behalf of ministries, public institutions, and development banks.

Mission & Vision

"Advancement through Research" – As a nationally and internationally active service provider in research management, PTKA offers funding applicants, proposers, and grant recipients expert advice and support in selected funding programs. The goal is to efficiently manage projects to rapidly translate scientific findings into practical applications, thereby promoting value creation, innovation, and sustainable development.

Target groups

PTKA is aimed at funding applicants, grant applicants, and recipients from science, industry, administration, and non-governmental organizations. This includes researchers at universities and research institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as international cooperation partners seeking support with application submission, project implementation, and fund management within the supported funding programs.
