About the funder

The Quality Juice Foundation (QJF) was established in 2009 as a legally recognized public foundation under civil law, headquartered in Mainz. It is committed to promoting the quality and safety of fruit juices as well as fair competition in the European fruit juice market. Key activities include organizing and supporting specialist conferences and training events, promoting public and private projects in line with the foundation’s objectives, and supporting research initiatives aimed at improving quality assurance tools and technological developments. An annual highlight is the awarding of the "Quality Juice Award," which includes a prize of 2,500 EUR to young scientists for outstanding research work in the field of fruit juice quality.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to permanently preserve and promote the quality and healthy image of fruit and vegetable juices. The QJF aims to contribute to public health care, consumer protection, and fair competition through cooperation with public and private entities. In doing so, we organize and finance training courses, professional events, and research projects, as well as the annual recognition of outstanding achievements in the fruit juice sector.

Target groups

The QJF targets technical managers and decision-makers in the fruit juice industry, consumers, as well as trade media and research institutions. In particular, it supports young scientists (Ph.D., M.Sc., postdocs) conducting research to improve the quality, safety, or image of fruit juices, quality managers and technologists in the industry, projects and initiatives of public and private sponsors in line with the foundation's purpose, as well as participants in training courses and professional conferences.
