About the funder

The Raiffeisen Foundation is a non-profit private foundation based in Berlin, established in 2012 with funds from the Cooperative Relief Fund of the German Raiffeisen Association e.V. It supports vocational training and continuing education, science and research, as well as upbringing, public and vocational education, including student assistance in the cooperative sector. Its focus lies on initiatives for Raiffeisen enterprises operating in the agricultural sector, as well as the awarding of doctoral scholarships, research and practical projects, and endowed professorships, with the aim of sustainably strengthening the rural cooperative sector regionally and beyond.

Mission & Vision

"Promoting cooperatives, shaping the future": The Raiffeisen Foundation is committed to strengthening the cooperative idea in rural areas through education, research, and public relations. It aims to support young professionals and volunteers in the cooperative sector and to enhance the understanding and recognition of cooperatives as key actors in rural development.

Target groups

Funding is provided primarily to members and employees of Raiffeisen and agricultural cooperatives, cooperative associations, as well as trainees, students, and educators at schools, vocational schools, universities of applied sciences, and universities. The target group includes all actors who plan and implement innovative educational, research, and public relations projects in the cooperative sector.
