About the funder
The Roger Willemsen Foundation is a non-profit foundation established in honor of the publicist, writer, and presenter Roger Willemsen. It operates the mare Artists' House in Wentorf near Hamburg, the former Willemsen Villa, and annually awards up to ten residency scholarships there. The foundation supports artists from the fields of visual arts, music, literature, film, performance, and political cabaret. The scholarship recipients have access to light-filled living and working spaces, studios and workshops, a library, a music room, as well as presentation rooms.

The Roger Willemsen Foundation promotes artistic diversity and interdisciplinary exchange by providing outstanding artists with an inspiring environment. Our goal is to make a sustainable contribution to the cultural landscape through residency scholarships.
Target groups
The scholarships of the Roger Willemsen Foundation are aimed at professional artists from all disciplines, particularly in the fields of visual arts, music, composition, literature, film, performance, and political cabaret. Applicants should have completed an artistic or academic degree or demonstrate comparable experience and submit a project they intend to realize during their residency at the mare Artists' House.
