Mission & Vision

We honor the visionary Rudolf Augstein and promote initiatives for a diverse and democratic society. Our goal is to strengthen critical and independent journalism, create opportunities for disadvantaged children and youth, and enable exceptional artistic formats. Through our funding efforts, we aim to turn visions into reality and initiate sustainable processes of change.

Target groups

Our funding programs are aimed at journalists, media initiatives, and organizations that practice independent and critical journalism; at artists and cultural projects across all disciplines with social relevance; as well as at non-profit organizations that provide disadvantaged children and young people with new opportunities for development. We support individuals, project teams, institutions, and cooperative networks pursuing innovative approaches to strengthening press freedom, cultural diversity, and social participation.
