Non-profit organization

About the funder

The Ballin Foundation e. V. was established in 1925 from the estate of Eugenie Pappenheim, in memory of her husband Rudolf Ballin, and has since been committed to the charitable promotion of needy children, adolescents, and families in Hamburg. As an independent provider of child and youth welfare, the foundation offers an inclusive, holistic educational program at numerous locations under the umbrella of "Ballin an Bord." This includes early childhood education in day care centers ("Ballin Kitas and Parent-Child Centers"), full-day care at schools, as well as programs for child diagnostics and recreation. The foundation places special emphasis on participation, sustainable development, and professional structures to enable children and young people to have self-determined learning and experiential spaces.
