Mission & Vision
The SMK is tasked with ensuring high-quality, equitable education in Saxony, promoting teaching and learning processes, and continuously improving the framework conditions for schools, teachers, and learners. It is committed to the future viability of the education system and the strengthening of the cultural identity of the Free State.
Target groups
The work of the SMK is aimed at pupils of all types of schools as well as their teachers and legal guardians. Furthermore, the Ministry supports schools, continuing education institutions, and extracurricular educational providers, as well as cultural institutions, in the implementation of educational and cultural policy objectives.
