About the funder

The Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) is a public-law fund of the Republic of Austria with its own legal personality and exclusively pursues charitable purposes. It was established under the Federal Foundations and Funds Act 2015 and has the statutory mandate to integrate asylum beneficiaries, subsidiary protection beneficiaries, Ukrainian displaced persons, as well as other immigrants in Austria. The ÖIF consolidates federal integration measures, including German language courses up to level C1, values and orientation courses, advisory and information services, as well as funding programs. To this end, it works closely with the federal government, states, and civil society partners and manages the operational implementation of calls for proposals and funding.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to promote the comprehensive integration of people with and without a migration background into Austrian society. We advocate for linguistic, professional, and social participation, strengthen understanding of democratic values, and support the networking of all stakeholders in the field of integration. Through target group-specific initiatives, we aim to build bridges, enable equal opportunities, and foster a spirit of solidarity.

Target groups

The ÖIF targets individuals entitled to asylum, beneficiaries of subsidiary protection, displaced persons (including those from Ukraine), third-country nationals with residence rights for humanitarian reasons, as well as migrants of all age groups. Furthermore, we support multipliers, volunteers, companies, and organizations engaged in integration work. The goal is to reduce linguistic, professional, and social integration barriers and to create sustainable opportunities for participation.
