About the funder

The Capital Cultural Fund was established in 1999 within the framework of the capital financing agreement between the federal government and the state of Berlin. It has an annual funding volume of 15 million euros and is aimed at significant cultural and artistic individual projects and events in the federal capital. The goal is to support projects from almost all artistic disciplines with national and international impact and to strengthen Berlin as a vibrant cultural location. The fund's office is located at the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion; funding decisions are prepared by an independent jury and made by the joint committee consisting of representatives from the federal government and the state of Berlin.

Target groups

Eligible to apply are natural or legal persons with concepts for individual projects and events from almost all artistic disciplines as well as inter- and transdisciplinary initiatives. Projects that are developed and presented in Berlin and possess national or international relevance are supported. Selection is based on artistic quality and cultural significance.
