About the funder

The Sibylle Kalkhof-Rose Foundation was established in 2005 by Sibylle Kalkhof-Rose and Dr. Eckhart Koch and is a trust foundation under the umbrella of the Johannes Gutenberg University Foundation. It supports research and teaching at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Since 2022, the foundation annually awards the Sibylle Kalkhof-Rose University Prize to outstanding young researchers in the fields of humanities and social sciences as well as natural sciences and medicine, each endowed with up to 25,000 euros. Furthermore, it supports exceptional, sustainable, and significant projects, measures, or acquisitions at JGU that are not covered by regular funding.

Mission & Vision

The Sibylle Kalkhof-Rose Foundation aims to recognize outstanding research achievements and to sustainably support early-career researchers at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Target groups

Funding is provided to young researchers from all disciplines at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz who excel through their personal and scientific achievements. The aim is to support particularly talented early-career researchers in their academic development through prize money and project-related funds, and to grant them visible recognition.
