About the funder

The Sparkassen-Sportstiftung Main-Kinzig is one of the most significant regional sports foundations in the Main-Kinzig district. Since its establishment, it has supported the sports landscape between Maintal and Schlüchtern with a focus on young talents, sports clubs, disabled sports groups, and individuals with outstanding voluntary commitment. To date, over 1,000 young athletes have been supported, and approximately €920,000 has been invested in preparation for and participation in World and European Championships. The foundation sees itself as a reliable partner for around 580 sports clubs and promotes activities such as sports scholarships, talent development, club support, school & club cooperation, as well as annually awarded honors like the August-Schärttner Prize and the Youth Promotion Award.

Mission & Vision

The Sparkassen-Sportstiftung Main-Kinzig aims to promote young talents in amateur and competitive sports over the long term, support clubs in their youth work, and recognize voluntary commitment in sports clubs. It seeks to provide athletes, especially those with disabilities, with financial and moral support to strengthen their dedication, team spirit, and tolerance in national and international competitions.

Target groups

The funding programs are aimed at young athletes from approximately 14 years of age who compete for a club based in the Main-Kinzig district and affiliated with the Hessian State Sports Association; at clubs, disabled sports groups, and initiatives that address the concerns of children, adolescents, and people with disabilities in sports; as well as at coaches and trainers who distinguish themselves through exceptional voluntary commitment in their sports clubs.
