About the funder
The Sparkassenstiftung Ostalb was founded in 1997 by the Kreissparkasse Ostalb and currently has an endowment of six million euros. From the income generated by the assets, it supports charitable initiatives that contribute to the positive development of infrastructure and quality of life in the Ostalb district. The funding areas include youth, sports, a healthy environment, social tasks, arts and culture, education, as well as science and monument preservation. Additionally, the foundation annually awards various prizes, such as the University Prize, Craftsman Prize, Youth Research Awards, Local History Research Prize, and Sports Youth Promotion Prize.
