About the funder

The Sparkassenstiftung Weimar – Weimarer Land is one of the three foundations of Sparkasse Mittelthüringen. Founded on December 22, 1995, it is a legally capable foundation under civil law based in Weimar. The foundation’s purpose is broadly defined to promote the diverse facets of social life in the region. The foundation supports non-profit projects in the fields of art and culture, monument preservation, sports, science and research, nature and environmental protection, local heritage and customs, youth welfare, public health, social welfare, and elderly care. The foundation operates regionally and funds projects in the city of Weimar and the district of Weimarer Land. Funding recipients must be associations or legal entities that can provide proof of non-profit status recognized by the tax office. The board of trustees decides on submitted requests twice a year.
