About the funder

The Sparkassenverband Niedersachsen (SVN) is the umbrella association of the 38 savings banks in Lower Saxony and, as a public law corporation, represents the common interests of its members. Headquartered in Hanover, it coordinates opinion formation within the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, acts as a liaison to the German Savings Banks and Giro Association, and serves as a contact for professional questions regarding the operation of savings banks. Furthermore, the SVN operates the Sparkassenakademie Niedersachsen for training and continuing education, the independent audit office as a legally appointed annual auditor, and the Niedersächsische Sparkassenstiftung to promote art and culture. Through its commitment to education, economic development, and social projects, it directly contributes to strengthening the common good in Lower Saxony.

The funding programs of the Sparkassenverband Niedersachsen are aimed at non-profit associations, institutions, and initiatives based in Lower Saxony, whose projects originate from the fields of education, health, integration, sports, culture, and social affairs and have statewide significance. Projects that promote social participation and whose funds are used for the designated purpose are supported.
