About the funder
The State Office for Agriculture and Environment West Mecklenburg (StALU WM) is one of the four regional authorities in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania operating under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. It is responsible for implementing federal and state legal regulations as well as EU directives in the fields of agriculture and environment. The office is based in Schwerin and covers the state capital Schwerin as well as the districts of Northwest Mecklenburg and Ludwigslust-Parchim. Its main tasks include the promotion of agriculture, integrated rural development, nature conservation, water and soil protection, emission and climate protection, as well as waste and circular economy. The office works closely with various partners from politics, business, education, and science to promote sustainable regional development.

Mission & Vision
The State Office for Agriculture and Environment West Mecklenburg sees itself as a competent partner and service provider for the economy, rural areas, and the population. The office promotes environmentally friendly production methods and biodiversity-enhancing measures in fruit and vegetable cultivation and supports the development of micro-enterprises in rural areas.
Target groups
The target group of the State Office for Agriculture and Environment West Mecklenburg includes agricultural enterprises, micro-enterprises in rural areas, producer associations as well as operational groups and networks in the agricultural and food sector. The office addresses stakeholders interested in improving competitiveness, working and production conditions, as well as developing additional sources of income. Furthermore, measures to promote allotment gardening are supported in order to strengthen its social and recreational functions.
