About the funder

The Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and for Homeland is a supreme state authority of the Free State of Bavaria, headquartered in the Palais Leuchtenberg at Odeonsplatz 4 in Munich, with a second office in Nuremberg. The ministry traces its origins back to a foundation by Maximilian von Montgelas in 1803 and has borne its current name since 2018. It is responsible for financial policy, the state budget, tax administration, the public service, surveying administration, and homeland affairs. In the homeland sector, it promotes regional culture, folk music, intangible cultural heritage, municipal infrastructure, and equivalent living conditions throughout Bavaria. Well-known programs include: Regional Culture Funding Program, Folk Music Impulse Program, Homeland.Engaged, and municipal investment budgets.

Mission & Vision

The Ministry is committed to creating a livable and lovable homeland for all people in the Free State and to ensuring equivalent living and working conditions in all Bavarian regions. It combines sound financial policy with active homeland preservation to strengthen regions and safeguard cultural identity.

Target groups
