About the funder
City of Vienna – Technical Urban Renewal (MA 25) is a department of the City Administration of Vienna that acts as a funding agency and coordinating body for the urban renewal program WieNeu+. MA 25 coordinates technical innovations and energy-efficient building renovations, promotes sustainable measures in public spaces, and supports social projects in selected neighborhoods. The department works closely with other municipal departments, the District Urban Renewal Coordination (GB *), as well as local stakeholders and residents to create livable, climate-resilient, and future-ready districts.

Mission & Vision
We understand urban renewal as a holistic process that combines technical and social aspects. Our goal is to make Vienna’s neighborhoods climate-resilient and future-ready by promoting innovative technologies, participatory planning processes, and community initiatives. Through targeted funding measures and networking, we create sustainable living environments and contribute to achieving Vienna’s climate neutrality.
Target groups
The funding programs of MA 25 are aimed at owners of residential and commercial buildings in the WieNeu+ program areas who wish to implement innovative technical measures; at residents, associations, and local initiatives that carry out social and community projects; and at local businesses and tradespeople who contribute to neighborhood development through thematic calls (e.g., Grätzlinitiative 20+2). All target groups must have a connection to the selected Vienna districts (Favoriten, Brigittenau/Leopoldstadt, Hernals).
