About the funder
The Stadtteilstiftung Sahlkamp-Vahrenheide is a non-profit community foundation, founded in 2004 as the first district foundation in Germany for the Hanover districts of Sahlkamp and Vahrenheide. It supports projects in the fields of upbringing, education, and social affairs, financed from the interest income of a long-term endowed capital (as of 31.12.2020: approx. EUR 92,187) as well as from donations. By the end of 2024, 221 initiatives have been supported with a total of around EUR 206,000. The foundation is exempt from corporate and trade tax pursuant to §§ 51 et seq. AO.

Mission & Vision
The Stadtteilstiftung Sahlkamp-Vahrenheide aims to permanently improve the living conditions and coexistence of the residents in Sahlkamp and Vahrenheide. We support, initiate, or directly manage projects and institutions in the fields of upbringing, education, and social affairs that strengthen self-help, civic participation, as well as intergenerational and cross-national cooperation. Our long-term approach focuses on preserving and expanding the foundation's capital in order to sustainably use the interest income for charitable purposes.
Target groups
Our funding programs are aimed at residents, associations, initiatives, and community facilities in the districts of Sahlkamp and Vahrenheide. We particularly support projects for children, youth, families, and seniors that contribute to social participation, education, integration, and neighborhood development. We support both individual projects and organizations that innovatively and sustainably strengthen community cohesion in the neighborhoods.
